What Is The Manufacturing Process of Lithium-ion Battery Cell?
The first step of Cylindrical 18650 Lithium-ion Cells production:
1.Pulping: The advanced automatic feeding system help feed automatically, without direct contact of manual, and ensuring the high cleanliness and pollution-free of materials.(The feeding sequence, mixing speed and mixing time shall be in strict accordance with the battery process standards)
2.Coating: The coating thickness is accurate up to ± 2um / surface. Meanwhile, the coating density is detected by β -ray on-line to ensure the standardization of products from the aspects of thickness and density.(Quality of cells depend on coating by 60%, like, whether there are scratches, particles, bubbles, dark marks, etc)
3.Drying: Oven is 18m. Coating speed is 8m / min and baking time is 2.25 min. (Maximum baking temperature should not exceed 140 ℃)
4.Rolling: Rolling accuracy can be controlled within± 2um/ surface, by pressing the positive once and the negative twice with roller machine.(appearance standard of the electrode piece: The winding should be neat, and the pole piece should be free of defects such as scar, fragment, wrinkle and material dropping, etc)
5.Slitting: Remove the edge of large electrode piece (3-5mm), then cut it into strips, and polish them regularly.(Be careful about the width of the small piece, and there should be no burr, otherwise the aluminum/ copper foil will be easily scratched, leading to short circuit of the cell)
6.Welding electrode ear(Paste high temperature glue): The electrode ear plays a role of drainage, and the length needs to be standardized. The working electrode ear of battery will generate heat, so high temperature glue should be pasted.(Pay attention to the length of the electrode. If the ear is too long, it is easy to short circuit when assembling, and it is not easy to weld the cap if the ear is too short.)
